The linen is genuinely soft from day one, not that stiff feel you get with cheaper weaves. I’ve washed it twice already and the color stayed rich while the fabric just got more comfortable.
The wide border trim is what sold me, and it looks even better in person against our sofa. Color is true to the photos, though I do wish the fabric had a bit more weight to it since you can see the pillow outline through it. Still, it's soft and I've washed it once with no issues.
